What a beautiful week to be outside. This week scholars were introduced to the 4 cardinal directions (North, East, South, and West). Scholars also learned how to use a compass in addition to some useful skills to help navigate through the woods. What if you were to get lost in the woods and didn't have a cell phone to help you find your way home? This fall scholars will be learning some compass, pacing, and mapping skills to help them learn the basics about orienteering. I don't want to overload scholars with too much technical stuff, so we also played with the pink Omnikin ball and ran around the gym to get some energy out.
